American Kratom Association to Present Scientific Update on Kratom at UN Commission

The American Kratom Association (AKA) will host a side event at the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (UNCND) in Vienna, Austria, on March 18, 2025. The presentation will offer a scientific update on kratom, a natural botanical substance, and its potential medicinal benefits.

The AKA’s event aims to foster a better understanding of kratom among international policymakers. According to the organization, the side event will feature presentations from leading kratom researchers and experts, who will share the latest scientific findings on kratom’s safety and efficacy.

“We are excited to present this important scientific update on kratom at the UNCND,” said Mac Haddow, Senior Fellow on Public Policy at AKA. “Our goal is to provide policymakers with the facts about kratom so that they can make informed decisions about its regulation”.
