Ole Miss Pharmacy School to Host Lecture on Kratom’s Potential in Pain Management
The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy is set to host an inaugural lecture featuring Christopher McCurdy, an internationally recognized expert on kratom. McCurdy, who is also an associate dean for faculty development at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, will discuss his work on the potential of kratom in treating pain, opioid withdrawal syndrome, and opioid use disorder.
The lecture is part of the Ronald F. Borne Endowed Lecture series and aims to shed light on cutting-edge research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. McCurdy’s research has garnered more than $21 million in federal grant funding and has led to significant advancements in the understanding of kratom’s therapeutic potential.
