Gabapentin primarily acts on the central nervous system by blocking the voltage gated Calcium ion channels. These Ca+2 channels are blocked at the α2δ subunits. It has more affinity for α2δ subunit as compared to the α2δ2 subunit of the Ca+2 Ion channels. These channels are responsible for the regulation of Ca+2 influxes when the neuronal membrane is depolarized.

How does Kratom work?

Kratom acts as a stimulant, painkiller, a mood booster and as an anxiolytic as it is composed mainly of the alkaloid mitragynine. It acts as a sedative when a larger dose is consumed. Kratom acts on the mu, delta and kappa receptors of opiates to produce its effects.
