Kava Culture Brings Kava And Kratom Bar To Fort Myers

Kava, the euphoric Polynesian-born drink, has come to downtown Fort Myers.

Drinking kava may elevate mood and help with relaxation. Some studies have found kava can be useful in treating anxiety and insomnia, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.

In November, the FDA released a public health advisory warning of deadly risks associated with using kratom.

The FDA cautions that kratom has similar effects to opioids and similar risks of abuse and addiction. Kratom is a controlled substance in 16 countries and banned in several states in the United States, according to the FDA.

To make sure people are enjoying kava and kratom safely, the Rusher sisters said the bar only serves the drinks to customers 18 and older. Both kava bars also provide books and reading material for people who want to know more about kava and kratom.
