Kratom: Why It Might Be the Next Hemp
Kratom, with its many health benefits, such as lessening the symptoms of opiate withdrawal and helping with depression, is emerging as a high-potential therapeutic option today. Its therapeutic benefits closely resemble those of cannabidiol (CBD), and it is expected to follow the same route forced by hemp and associated products.

The value of the kratom industry is estimated to be between $1.2 and $5 billion. Between 2014 and 2016, approximately 121,254 pounds of kratom entered the US market, and this quantity is expected to increase as more benefits of kratom are revealed. However, concerns have been rife that incidents of high concentrations of nickel, lead, and salmonella contamination could derail the expected growth of the kratom industry.
Taking caution, perhaps after seeing the rough and lengthy route followed by hemp, manufacturers who deal with kratom only want what is clean and safe.
